A.    No, Portable Health Profile was specifically designed so that you are never required transmit your personal medical information via Internet or phone.

Yes, If you allow your doctors to save the data on their computers, No if you do not. It's always up to you.

Q.    Will my doctor be able to open Portable Health Profile?

A.   
Yes, provided they have either a USB port or CD ROM drive. These are almost universal on modern computers.

No, the program is stored on the USB Flash drive or the Mini-CD.

Yes, it is always a good idea to take a paper copy with you the first time you see a new physician.

Q.    How will Emergency Personnel know I have Portable Health Profile in an emergency?

A.   
The emergency stickers included will alert emergency personnel to locate your CD or USB flash drive.  Use one at home and one in the car.

Q.    What if I lose my CD or USB Flash drive?

A.   
The information is always stored on your home computer so you will always have your information at home.

Q.    Is it risky to carry my information with me?

A.   
No, there is more vital information contained in your wallet or purse(Drivers License ,Credit Cards, etc.) and we carry these each day without a thought.  Plus, other than an emergency page designed for maximum access, all information on your profile can be password protected by you.

Filling In and Updating your Portable Health Profile

Q.    How do I get my Medical records from my doctor and will there be a fee?

A.   
Your physician is required by law to make available to you a copy of all of the information located in your file/chart. Some physicians will charge a small fee, usually less than $25.00 for copying expenses.

Q.    How long will it take me to complete?

A.   
Once you have secured your records it should take no longer that 25-30 minutes to complete.

Q.    How can I add medical images?

A.   
Secure your medical images (EKG, CT Scan, MRI, X-ray, Mammogram) from your physician and have them scanned as a JPEG image. This can easily be done on your home scanner or at any copy shop.

Q.    How do I make changes to the Portable Health Profile?

A.   
Simply type in new information into the Portable Health Profile forms the new information is automatically saved.

Yes, you can update your Portable Health Profile CDR approximately 2-3 times. Simply make changes on your home computer and follow steps for burning CD. Additional CDR's are also available.

Yes, simply make changes to Portable Health Profile forms on your home computer and export to Portable Health Profile™ USB flash drive. Old files will be saved with new information.

Yes, but the program is around 1 megabyte, that is very small.

Yes, provided you have a USB port, and are using at least Microsoft® Windows98.

In you computer manual is the CD drive referred to as CDR or CDRW? If yes then you have the ability to burn CDs.
