Extend-ITs™ Reaching Tools

"Oh my aching back" is an all to common complaint after we go through the day bending and stretching to pick up items which always seem to either be lying on the floor or just out of reach on a high shelf.  Reaching tools (also often called "reachers" or "grabbers") make it easier to "reach out and grab" items while sparing your back.

Don't confuse our reaching tools with cheap, light duty copies.   All of our reaching tools are made with metal parts and high impact plastics in all critical wear areas.  We stock lengths from 20 inches up to 4 feet in several gripper configurations to best fit your needs with even longer ones available by special order.  We even have a folding vertical jaw reacher you can carry with you when you travel.  All units are designed for years of heavy duty use.  Plus, many of our reachers have easy to use trigger locking grips so you can chomp onto your target and move it without having to hold the grip closed.

There are two primary types of reaching tool:
 

• Suction Cup Reaching Tools - these reachers have two hard rubber suction cup grippers horizontally opposed on flat steel springs so that when you pull the trigger the suction cups come together on the sides of the item you intend to pick up.  Probably the most commonly used reaching tool design in current use, we have models in a variety of lengths.   Advantages include easy replacement of suction cups if they become worn and a somewhat stronger grip on most items.

• Vertical Jaw Reaching Tools - Vertical jaw reaching tools have a fixed upper bar and a hinged lower jaw so that when you pull the trigger the item you are picking up is grabbed between the jaw and the bar; normally both the jaw tip and the upper beam have a hard rubber pad to improve the grip on the object being grabbed.  We have several models of vertical jaw reachers but in general they are not available in as many lengths and options as the suction cup reachers.  Advantages include flatter storage and ability to use the end of the upper bar as a hook or magnetic pickup.
